Ranking methodology
AdExchange.forum lists 56 Google MCM partners. This page documents exactly how the order is produced, what the votes mean, what we do about manipulation, and what the ranking does not tell you. If anything here is unclear or wrong, tell us and we will correct it.
How the ranking is calculated
Each partner has a single publisher approval score from 0 to 100. It is derived from member votes on that partner's profile:
score = upvotes / (upvotes + downvotes) × 100
Partners are then ordered from the highest score to the lowest. Ties are broken by total vote volume, then alphabetically. Nothing else moves a partner up or down — not traffic to the partner's site, not our referral links, not commercial contact with us.
Written reviews carry a separate 1-5 star rating. That rating is shown next to each partner and can be sorted and filtered, but it is deliberately kept out of the ranking score so a handful of long reviews cannot outweigh broad voting.
A score is only shown once a partner has votes. Partners with very few votes are still listed, so a low or high score on thin data should be read with caution — the vote count is always displayed next to it.
How up and down votes work
- Voting requires a free signed-in account. Anonymous voting is not counted.
- One account can cast one vote per partner: either up or down, never both.
- Votes can be changed or removed at any time; the score recalculates immediately.
- An upvote means “I would recommend this partner to another publisher.” A downvote means “I would not.”
- Votes are not weighted by publisher size, revenue or country. Every account counts once.
- We never vote as a site, and staff accounts are excluded from the tallies.
What we do against fake votes and manipulation
- Votes are stored against an authenticated account, with a database-level uniqueness rule per account and partner, so duplicate or repeated voting from one account is impossible.
- Email-verified sign-up or Google sign-in is required, which blocks the simplest bulk account creation.
- Sudden bursts of votes on a single partner are reviewed manually, and votes from accounts created in the same short window with no other activity are removed.
- Written reviews are limited to one per account per partner and are removed if they contain no first-hand experience, promotional copy or contact details.
- The “Verified publisher” badge only appears when the reviewer states they have an active MCM link with that partner in their own Google Ad Manager. It is a self-declaration, and we label it as such rather than presenting it as an audit.
- Partners may report suspected manipulation against themselves or a competitor; we investigate both the same way.
How often the data is updated
- Votes, reviews and scores update in real time as members submit them.
- Commercial figures — MCM model, approval time, revenue share, traffic requirements, payment terms and supported markets — are re-checked against each partner's own published pages on a quarterly cycle. The current data set was last verified on 2026-09-01, shown on every partner profile.
- New partners are added when a member submits them and we can find a public page documenting their MCM offer.
Can a partner pay for a better ranking?
No. There is no paid placement, no sponsored ranking slot and no way to buy a score, a badge or a position in any list on this site. We do not accept payment to add, remove, reorder or reword a partner entry, and we do not remove negative reviews on request.
Some outbound links to partner sites carry a referral tag, which is disclosed in full on the commercial disclosure page. Those links have no effect on any score or position, and the ranking formula above is the only thing that determines the order.
What this ranking is not
The score measures member sentiment. It is not an audit of revenue, not a performance benchmark on your inventory, and not a Google endorsement. Vendor-published figures such as approval time or revenue share are quoted with a source and a verification date, but we cannot independently verify them.
Use the ranking as a shortlist, then read the pros and cons and written reviews on each profile, and ask any partner for a projection on your own traffic before signing.
